We all feel the gale force wins of the world, the things that pull us an tempt us; the things our eyes desire, pride and boasting in our achievements. But John makes it clear in the scriptures that if anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
The antidote to this resistance we feel from the world lies in the spritual disciplines of solitude and reflection on God's word, the Bible. Being part of a church community also offers a safe harbour from the storms of this world.
